Traveling around Christchurch, we saw signs of the devastating earthquake of 2011; but moreover we saw the beautiful examples of this resilient town rebuilding what had been almost total destruction of the city. New colorful murals liven up the city while features of old like punting still remain. In the botanical garden we found the Sir Edmund Hillary Rose - currently a small single yellow rose atop a high trellis. We even saw Ernest Rutherford's Den! Then Chris and Del hosted us at their farm demonstrating sheep husbandry, some delightful alpacas and a Shearers Supper.
